Home > Natural Stone - Marble

Marble surfacing provides the classiest and most glamorous appeal of all surfacing that is available. Marble countertops, marble vanities, and marble tile are natural surfaces that are millions of years old. Marble is quarried from all over the world and its unique veining, colors and patterns provide exquisite combinations of beauty. This stone can be used for floors tile, kitchen Countertops, Marble Bathroom Vanities, Marble Wall Tile, and marble columns.

There are many types of marbles available and each one has its own uniqueness. This is because marble is a metamorphic stone that went through many changes over millions of years. There are marbles that will provide higher glosses than others such as high calcite marbles and there are marbles that provide a more honed appearance such as high magnesium based marbles. The higher the calcite content, the higher the shine you will get. Furthermore, high calcite marbles provide a reflection with more clarity. On the downside, high calcite marbles are more brittle and have the tendency to scratch more and they are much more sensitive to acidic liquids such as soda and juices which cause dull spots and glass rings. These dull spots can easily be repaired by yourself by using marble restoration products.

Marble is geared more for interior use. It is especially popular for flooring and bathroom use. Marble is not recommended for exterior use to its sensitivity to acid rain and abrasive debris. When fabricated, marble can be cut to a honed or high polished luster and almost every type of edge design can be carved into the stone. Tumble marble is also a very popular finish. It provides an antique type appearance that looks wonderful on floors, walls and backsplashes.

When cared for properly, marble is simple to care for. When it is sealed and cleaned properly, you will easily preserve the natural beauty of this unique surface. Stone Sealers are easy to apply, simply wipe on 2 applications within 10 minutes of each other and wipe off the excess. Depending on the absorbency of the stone, resealing can take place from once a year up to 5 years.

FFor cleaning, always use a product specifically designed to clean natural stone, not over-the-counter cleaning products. Periodically, we recommend using a stone polish on your marble countertop and shower walls, which will enhance to dark colors of your stone.
