Home > Solid Surfaces - Corian® Corian® is manufactured in sheets by DuPont®. These sheets are made of natural minerals and acrylic resins, which are formed into a countertop which is called a Solid Surface, because it does not have any seams in it. When it is fabricated and installed, the back splash, sink and even other colors can be blended in to one piece without having any seams; therefore, it is called a Solid Surface. Corian® is the most popular brand of Solid Surfacing in the world and Dupont® began introducing it to the public during the sixties era. Solid Surfaces come in hundreds of colors and patterns and they are marketed as maintenance free surfaces; however, they do have the tendency to scratch or stain. It is critical to use an authorized Corian® fabricator to cut and install your surfaces.
